Ive had nothing but problems with this printer from day one! The scan to computer will not work and it keeps telling me that its not connected and to download new version which is already done! Is anyone else finding they are having multiple problems with this same printer and who can actually help me as in real person i can talk to NOT AI

We are none of us AI bots, though AI is available as an option using SupportGPT (the HP AI).

 

Alas, I've never seen your printer model and cannot comment on whether the series is troublesome.

 

The following is not "everything" -- it might be enough to point you in the right direction...

  • On the EWS Home page, click the Settings tab.
  • In the left pane, click Control Panel Customization, and then click Quick Sets.
  • Click the Add icon .
  • From the Type drop-down list, select Scan to Network folder, enter a name to display on the control panel for the Quick Sets, and then follow the onscreen instructions to add a Quick Set profile for a network folder. When finished, click Next.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to set up the network folder, authentication requirements, and scan and file configurations. When finished, click Apply.

Assuming you are asking about Windows based "Scan to Computer", then yes, the printer supports this feature with the installation of the full driver printer software and after enabling the Manage Scan to Computer setting.

If you would rather -- or if you cannot install the full driver for any reason -- the printer supports using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to set up Scan to Network Folder.  You do need a shared (read / write open) network destination configured and it has to be available when Scan to Network Folder initiated.

Open your Browser

Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

 

      Note → If the browser security will not let you open EWS, try a different browser.
