I'm trying to set up scan to email and it's not working. I have an **bleep** account and a **bleep** account. Not sure that yahoo allows SMTP relaying, etc, but pretty sure that outlook does. I googled the SMTP server settings and port settings, and I keep getting a message about the SMTP server being busy and try again when trying to send a test email from the interface. That's bogus, because I get that message each and every time. Trying to set this up initially and so far, a no go.
Surely, this doesn't require one to be an I.T engineer, setting up an exchange server, active directory, etc? This is designed to be set up by ordinary lay-users, so to speak?
I don't have an Exchange server and don't want to go through the time and expense in setting one up. I was hoping it wouldn't involve that deep a set up

Hi,
Please clarify your printer model, there is no such Officejet 9202 pritner model.
Additionally, what exact settings do you set as the SMTP server and SMTP port?
Yahoo does support an SMTP connection, below are its details:
https://help.**bleep**/kb/SLN4724.html
below are the correct details for **bleep**:
Also, from the Network tab select IPv4 for the active connection type.
Set a manual DNS of Google DNS services and check if that may make any difference then:
Primary: 8.8.8.8
Secondary: 8.8.4.4

Sorry, I meant to correct that; it's a OfficeJet Pro 9205. I would prefer to use my outlook address. For that one, it said to use port 587 and an SMTP that is shown:
SMTP server name smtp-mail.**bleep**
- Port 587
I even tried port 25; didn't work.
I did not try the Google DNS settings you mentioned. I've never heard of those. Will that effect my main network setup, which does work? I have my Google drive app connected and my printer can check for updates successfully.
I'm looking to see where to input the google settings, and I've expanded these and don't see it. Did I miss it somewhere?

Hi @Giant44,
Such a setting won't affect any device or the network, its only a setting for the printer itself, to allow the printer to better communicate to the internet and overcome possible network difficulties.
You would need to select the active connection type, either Wireless (802.11) or Wired (802.3), then select IPv4 and there you may set the DNS address for the printer.
Be sure to use port 587, also make sure the SSL/TLS option is checked and check if you may see any difference then,
If the problem remains, is your printer connected wirelessly or with an ethernet cable?
