Hi @Ameling,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the details. I understand that printing is working correctly from your Mac, but the scanning function has stopped working. Let’s check a few details so we can better understand what’s happening and find the right solution.

Could you please help us with the following information?

  • What is the exact printer model you are using?
  • Which macOS version is installed on your Mac?
  • How are you trying to scan through the HP app, Apple Image Capture, or another scanning application?
  • When you try to scan, what exactly happens?
    • Does the printer not appear as a scanner?
    • Do you receive any error message?
    • Does the scan start and then fail?
  • Is the printer connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac?
  • Were there any recent changes before this started (macOS update, HP app update, router change, or printer firmware update)?

If possible, please also let us know if you can access the printer’s control panel and whether you are able to initiate a scan directly from the printer itself.

Once we have these details, we’ll work with you to narrow down the cause and get scanning working again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
