Is there an HP Doc app to help scan from my computer to my desktop? I can't find half the icons I used to have with windows 10 and need help setting up my older HP printer to be easily accessible for scanning and printing from my new computer.

@DawnTerz, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here's a step-by-step guide to help you scan from your HP OfficeJet 5212 All-in-One Printer on a Windows 11 PC using the HP Smart app, which is the recommended tool for scanning and printing:
Download and Install the HP Smart App
- Visit the official HP Smart app page: HP Smart
- You can also get it directly from the Microsoft Store on your Windows 11 PC.
Set Up Your Printer in HP Smart
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Click “+ Add Printer” and follow the prompts to connect your HP OfficeJet 5212.
- Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your PC.
Scan a Document
- In the HP Smart app, click on the “Scan” tile.
- Choose Scanner as the source (not camera).
- Adjust settings like resolution, color, and file type (PDF, JPEG, etc.).
- Click “Scan”.
- Once scanned, you can save it to your desktop or any folder of your choice.
Optional: Create a Desktop Shortcut
- After scanning, click “Save As” and choose your desktop as the destination.
- You can also pin the HP Smart app to your taskbar for quick access.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If your printer isn't detected, ensure it's connected to Wi-Fi and restart both the printer and your PC.
- Disable any VPNs temporarily during setup.
- Make sure Windows 11 is fully updated.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
