Hi,
my printer HP Laserjet MFP M26a is printing ok, so it is copying so it can not be a hardware problem. But scanning not work. Using app HP scan and capture it just tells me that it can not find a device.
I tried to install the driver again (before that I uninstalled all the old hp sowtware) but it did not work (crashed after 99% of installing).
The same happened on all of my 3 PCs (all win10). But when I connect to printer my laptop (also win10) everything works perfectly even without installing any driver.
Furthermore, we I tried to contact HP support via www.hp.com/contacthp/ the support page just told me "Service of this product is not made by HP anymore. You can find a solution on this support page." Even though it is is in warranty.
Do you have any idea what should I do?

When was the last time it worked fine?
Were there any hardware/software changes?
What is the operating system on other two PC?
Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:
Download and Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe
Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers:
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
To reinstall, click here.
Uninstall and reinstall HP Scan and Capture app.
Let me know how that pans out

Hi,
thank you for your respond. Here are my answers:
When was the last time it worked fine?
It actually never worked fine on these three computers. (just on laptop it works anytime)
Were there any hardware/software changes?
Not really, we officially bought two refubrished coputers with official windows 7 licence. Scanning did not work on them from beginning and it is the same after free upgrading to windows 10.
The third coputer is 2 yer old, bought as new with official win8 licence, upgraded to win 10.
My laptop, where it works properly is also running win10
What is the operating system on other two PC?
Answered higher
I tried to run the scan doctor again. It wrote I am missing a driver and offered me one to install. But installation process failed again after 99% were done.
Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers:
I did all the steps in exactly same way you wrote exept of one:
"Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them."
I do not have any HP LaserJet entry there. Is it ok?
So I did the other steps, but again the same problem with instalation - failed after 99% was complete.
So do you have any other ideas?
Thanks
Emil

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts,
I would suggest you install printer drivers using Windows Built in drivers: Click here
If the issue persists, create a new user account and then try installing Printer drivers.
Keep me posted,
Have a great day 🙂
