Hi @Andre143

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the concern—when the alignment scan does not complete on your new HP Envy 6552e, it can prevent you from moving forward with setup. This usually happens if the printer cannot properly detect or read the alignment page.

The reasons may include the page not being placed correctly on the scanner glass, smudges or marks interfering with detection, or firmware/software needing an update to ensure smooth communication.

Here are the HP‑recommended steps to resolve this:

Check the Alignment Page Placement

Place the alignment page face‑down on the scanner glass.

Align it with the front right corner as indicated by the guides.

Ensure the page is flat and not curled.

Clean the Scanner Glass

Power off the printer.

Gently clean the scanner glass and the white backing with a lint‑free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water.

Dry thoroughly before retrying.

Retry Alignment from the HP App

Open the HP App on your computer or mobile device.

Select your printer, go to Printer Settings > Maintenance > Align Cartridges.

Follow the prompts to print and rescan the alignment page.

Update Firmware

In the HP App, go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Firmware Update.

Install any available updates to ensure the printer has the latest improvements.

Run Diagnose & Fix

In the HP App, select your printer.

Choose Diagnose & Fix to automatically check and correct issues that may block alignment.

This process should allow the alignment to complete successfully and help the printer recognize the cartridges properly.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
