I have been searching for a new printer that supports the universal scan driver for Windows 11 so I can have OCR. Does anyone know of any models?

Unfortunately, I spent 3 hours on the phone with HP already and got no information on the subject of a suitable printer.  The only thing i found out from them is that every little thing is a subscription. The sales people don't know one printer from another and there are steep restocking fees if buying direct. At support.hp.com I saw that many universal scan drivers have eliminated OCR scanning. There is a note under details saying 'does not support OCR'. If  you know the model number you can check if the driver supports OCR. It seems that much software is not for sale but for rent, by costly subscription. I could check the freeware but usually freeware has lots of problems and ads. I will keep working on the problem. thanks to all who wrote.
