Hi,
I purchased a second hand printer and I understand I need to ensure it is not linked to the previous owners account. I have set up a hp account and removed the ink cartridges awaiting non insta ink replacements which i have ordered. I would be grateful if I could have assistance in removing the instant ink information on this printer. Thank you.

Hi @Absrax,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand you’ve purchased a second-hand HP Envy 4527 and want to remove the previous owner’s Instant Ink information. Please follow these steps:
Factory reset the printer
On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
This will remove network and Instant Ink details linked to the printer.
Create/Use your HP account
Since you’ve already set up an HP account, sign in at HP Smart or the HP Smart app and add your printer.
Instant Ink cartridges
Instant Ink cartridges will not work once the printer is removed from the previous subscription. You’ll need standard HP 302/302XL (depending on your region) for normal use.
Once you install your new non-Instant Ink cartridges and add the printer to your account, you should be ready to print normally.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Hi, Thanks for your help. In the end resetting the printer to factory defaults had not resolved the issues. I had to call [edited] where a HP agent was able to eventually delink the existing insta ink account linked to the printer. I have my own cartridges and it is working now.
