Hi there,
I have a DeskJet 3050A ( product number CR231B ) and it previously worked fine with eprint. Then it all of a sudden stopped working with eprint and the printer disappeared from my HP account. I wanted to re-add the printer to my account, but it complains about an serial number (invalid).
The Serial number starts with CN1Aj.... and I copy and pasted it from the web-interface. So there is no typo. I've also changed the browser.
I'Ve tried to register the printer , but I can't submit the form, after I've solved the captcha. Nothing happens when I click the button. I've tried 2 different browser (Firefox and Brave Browser).
The printer works fine otherwise. It has a network connection and I can print with the app, but there is no connection to eprint. I already resett the printer.
Has someone an Idea on how to get this working with eprint and why the serial number is not recognized in my HP account?
Thanks.

just by chance I've found the solution.
The serial number I have from the printer web interface or from the device itself is too long for the support page.
It was said it should be 10 digits long and mine is 14 digits long. So I've omitted the last 4 and low and behold, with the first 10 digits the serial number was accepted!!!
@alden you should add this information to your list of tipps and also update the HP support website. I've spend hours searching for this information and it was very frustrating that I couldn't find a solution.

Hi @Hermann-san,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering a frustrating issue with your HP DeskJet 3050A. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the ePrint and serial number problems.
Verify the Serial Number Format
Ensure that the serial number is entered correctly. It should be in the format CN1Aj... (or similar), and make sure there are no extra spaces or hidden characters.
Check Printer Firmware
Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date:
- Go to the HP Printer Support page and check for the latest firmware for the DeskJet 3050A.
- If available, download and install it.
HP Smart App
Try using the HP Smart app to add your printer:
- Download the app from the HP Smart website or your device's app store.
- Open the app and try to add your printer from there. This may resolve any account-related issues.
HP Connected Services
Ensure that the ePrint service is enabled on your printer:
- From the printer's control panel, go to the Setup menu.
- Navigate to Web Services and ensure it is turned on.
- If it is turned off, enable it, and try to re-register your printer.
HP Account
Make sure you are logged into the correct HP account. Sometimes, logging out and back in can help refresh your account settings:
- Visit the HP account page and check your account status.
Clear Browser Cache
If you are still having issues with the website:
- Clear the cache and cookies of your browsers or try using a different network to register your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden
I do have the latest Firmware SMP1FN1115AR
The Printer is already added in the App, so that doesn't help
The ePrint Service is already enabled
Log-in Log-out has not helped. I even used a different Browser to check.
I even created a new account, but the result was the same.
So are you saying that it should work with this printer model?
I've send you the serial number via PN. Maybe you have possibilities to check the number.
Thanks.
