It concerns my new HP Smart Tank 7005 (All in One). I am looking for a connected solution, as radiating equipment can not be used here. Also, all systems here still have Windows 8.1 Pro and Home. So a solution directly connected to the network (or to a Win8.1-PC) is the suggested solution. Waiting to see or hear from you, thank you. With kind regards, Jan Heijblom Email: famhei@live.nl (Responses in English, German or Dutch languages are OK).

Hi @famhei,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One printer and Windows 8.1 setup, you have a couple of options for connecting the printer directly to your network or PC without using WiFi:
1. Network (Ethernet) Connection:
If you want to connect the printer directly to your network via Ethernet (if your printer has an Ethernet port), follow these steps:
- Connect the Printer: Plug an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the printer and connect the other end to your router or network switch.
- Configure Network Settings: Use the printer's control panel to configure the network settings. You may need to enter your network details if they aren't automatically detected.
- Install Printer Drivers: On your Windows 8.1 PC, download and install the appropriate drivers for the HP Smart Tank 7005 from the HP website. Make sure to choose the correct operating system version (Windows 8.1 64-bit).
- Add Printer: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer. Select Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer, and Windows should detect your printer on the network.
2. Direct USB Connection:
If you prefer to connect the printer directly to your Windows 8.1 PC via USB:
- Connect the Printer: Plug a USB cable into the USB port on the printer and connect it to your PC.
- Install Printer Drivers: Download and install the drivers for the HP Smart Tank 7005 from the HP website for Windows 8.1 64-bit.
- Add Printer: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer. Select Add a local printer, choose the USB port, and follow the prompts to install the printer.
Additional Tips:
- Ensure that any security settings or firewall on your PC or network don't block the printer connection.
- If you're connecting over Ethernet and the printer doesn't automatically get an IP address, you may need to manually assign one through the printer's control panel or via the router's settings.

I hope this helps.
