I have been given a used HP Inkjet F4580 and cannot get into 'Set Up' mode. I am sinmultaneouly pressing and holding the 'Cancel' and 'Wireless' keys and it will not enter set up mode. Is there another way or am I following the correct procedure?

@Nodga, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP Deskjet F4580 should enter Wireless Setup Mode when you press and hold the Cancel (X) button and Wireless button simultaneously for about 3 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking. However, if this does not work, try these alternative methods:

Alternative Methods to Enter Wireless Setup Mode

Restore Network Settings (Factory Reset)

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from power for 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button for about 5-10 seconds until the wireless light blinks.
  • This resets the wireless settings to factory defaults.

Use HP Smart App (If Reset Works)

  • Install the HP Smart App on your Windows PC, Mac, Android, or iOS device.
  • Open HP Smart and select 'Set Up a New Printer' when the printer is in setup mode.

Use WPS Button (If Your Router Supports It)

  • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for 3 seconds.
  • Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
  • The wireless light should turn solid when connected.

Manually Enter Wireless Details (USB Setup Method)

  • Connect the printer to a PC via USB.
  • Download and install the HP Print and Scan Doctor or HP Easy Start from the HP website.
  • Follow the setup instructions to manually enter Wi-Fi details and disconnect the USB after setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
