Hi @1englishteacher,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To set up your HP 2700 printer to print from your Android device without using Wi-Fi, you can use the Wi-Fi Direct feature or connect via USB. Here's how to do both.

Option 1: Wi-Fi Direct

Enable Wi-Fi Direct on the Printer:

  • Press the Wireless button on the printer's control panel.
  • Select Wi-Fi Direct and turn it on. Make a note of the Wi-Fi Direct name and password displayed on the printer's control panel.

Enable Wi-Fi Direct on Android:

  • Open Settings on your Android device.
  • Go to Wi-Fi settings.
  • Turn on Wi-Fi.
  • Look for the Wi-Fi Direct network name (SSID) that matches the one displayed on your printer. Connect to it.

Print from Android:

  • Install the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store if you haven't already.
  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Tap the Print option.
  • Select your printer from the list of available printers.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to print your document.

Option 2: USB Connection

Connect Printer to Android via USB:

  • Ensure your printer and Android device both support USB printing.
  • Use an OTG (On-The-Go) cable to connect your Android device to the printer.
  • Make sure the printer is powered on.

Install HP Print Service Plugin:

  • Install the HP Print Service Plugin from the Google Play Store if you haven't already.

Print from Android:

  • Open the document or photo you want to print.
  • Tap the "Share" or "Print" option depending on the app you're using.
  • Select "HP Print Service" from the list of available printers.
  • Adjust print settings if needed.
  • Tap Print.

Using either of these methods, you should be able to print from your Android device to your HP 2700 printer without needing a Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
