I've bought a new HP Deskjet 2710 printer but can't get the set up process to work. I run Windows 10 Pro and have tried to get the installation files/drivers/etc. But al that happens on the Microsoft website when I click on the button is a quick flash and nothing else happens. Help please?

Hi@mikeperryuk, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Try these steps to re-install the printer driver -
1. In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2. Look for HP Printer software.
3. Right-click to uninstall.
4. In the search box, type, and open “Devices and Printers”.
5. In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6. Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7. Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8. Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9. Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10. Select Ok.
11. Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12. Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13. Restart the computer.
14. Download and install the software and drivers from here.
15. Click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

Neither of the replies were of any assistance at all. The problem is that a normal Windows 10 Pro system cannot download and install the HP printer software. Both answers are assuming, wrongly, that the software was installed. As it cannot be downloaded it cannot be installed nor uninstalled!
The workaround we found was to download the HP software to a 'smart' phone (my brother's) and then copy it onto the Windows 10 computer. Then we could install the printer software.
So there is something very wrong with how the software is being presented for download in the first instance. That needs to be addressed urgently so others can install their printers correctly. You need to stop assuming that 'everyone' has a smart phone, as they do not.
Must try harder to understand what the actual problem is and stop making assumptions.
