Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I'm a tech for my campus and am trying to set up a printer for a teacher who is using a MacBook running Catalina 10.15. I'm trying to install a HP LasetJet MFP M234sdwe but while the MacBook says the printer is installed, the printer is telling me I have to use the HP Smart App to install the printer. Our district does not allow us to set printers up wirelessly so I either need an actual driver so this teacher can use the printer we bought her or a way to make the printer stop telling me to install it.
