Can I set up a DeskJet Ink Advantage 2300 without wifi? There is a cord that connects it to my Imac running on Mojave

Hello Pandy4! After some research, it seems it may be possible, but there's some issues. You can use USB cable, but apparently there's no official macOS support or dedicated drivers available, and it doesn't support AirPrint either.

You can try installing the HP Printer Driver v5.1 for OS X

Then try connecting the printer with USB cable and follow these instructions:

  1. Open system preferences and select Printers & Scanners
  2. Click the Add button to add new printer
  3. Select the printer as it should appear in the list.
  4. In the use dropdown menu, choose select printer software
  5. From the list, select HP DeskJet 2540 series
  6. Click add to complete the setup

I hope this helps!

Hi @Pandy4

(1) Connect a USB cable between Deskjet printer and computer:

(2) Then try to install the next driver:

(3)  And go to System Preferences > Printers then Add the printer.
