In trying to set up the mentioned printer for the first time, and I got stuck with whether I should select "IT managed" or "self managed".

What do those mean?

I'm an embedded SW designer from Finland, and I've nothing to do with HP - other than buying HP products every now and then for my personal use.

After quite some googling, I found out that it's just whether the automatic updates are enabled (self-managed) or not (IT-managed).

Can someone confirm that?

The difference is in the printer's updates that are done from time to time.

Self-managed updates are done automatically in IT managed the updates are OFF.
