@Pjk10, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Set Up an HP Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Unboxing the Printer:

  • Begin by removing all packaging materials and tape from the printer and its components.
  • Ensure you've unpacked all items such as power cords, ink cartridges, user guides, and installation CDs (if included).

Connect Power:

  • Connect the power cord to the printer and plug it into a wall outlet.
  • Press the power button on your printer to turn it on.

Install Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Wait for the carriage to stop moving.
  • Insert the provided ink cartridges into the correct slots, pressing down until they snap into place.

Load Paper:

  • Open the input tray and adjust the paper width guides.
  • Load paper into the tray and adjust the guides to fit snugly against the paper stack.

Install Software:

  • Use the included installation CD or download the latest drivers from the HP website (hp.com/support).
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

Wireless Setup (Optional):

  • You can set up wireless printing using the software or through the printer control panel.
  • Connect your printer to the wireless network by following the prompts in the setup process.

Print Alignment Page:

  • Your printer may prompt you to print an alignment page to calibrate the printheads.

Final Checks:

  • Ensure that all items are properly installed, and the printer is connected to your computer or network.
  • Test print a document to check the setup.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
