Setting up printer with non-SETUP Cartridges Error - Deskjet Plus 4140

Hey y'all, I've been trying to set up my printer, and I've been using the HP EasyStart software. I tried the app, but that gave me the same issue- the thing is that I didn't receive SETUP Cartridges with the printer, and now in the set up-I'm using HP cartridges, but it won't bypass the SETUP Cartridges Error message... I've tried Support's method of uninstalling the carts, then putting them in one after the other, to see if it displays a different message, but it ends up with the same message....Anybody have any solutions? If not, I just wasted a solid $30 bucks on some ink I can't ever use...... 😞
