Hi @Kaktus4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that is not working after cancelling the instant ink service.

To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:

- Please share the image of the ink cartridges that are installed on your printer now after cancelling the service.

- Error messages or Blinking lights (if any) on the unit.

- May I know which application you are using to print?

- When was the last time your printer was working fine?

- Were there any changes made to your printer recently?

- May I know which devices are you using to print eg: Windows PC, Mac, or Smartphone (Android or iPhone)?

Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Take care and have a great day ahead!

IMG_5005.jpegHi Irwin

These are the inks. Only the colored one is blinking and the printer is showing E0.
I am using HP Smart for printing both from iOS and Win10 PC.
It was working fine about a month ago, after I changed the subscription to retail ink and hasn’t been fine since. No other changes made to the printer.

Hi @Kaktus4,

Thank you for sharing the above information but the image of the cartridge is not clear to read the information on it.

Please take a closer image of the ink cartridges to assist you further.

Take care and have a great day ahead!

Hi @Kaktus4,

Thank you for sharing the above image once again.

The color ink cartridge you are using is still instant ink and as the subscription is cancelled.

Request you to use regular genuine HP ink cartridges to resume printing.

Are you trying to help me or are you just spending time responding people?

image.jpgThe ones on the right are the Instant Ink cartridges. The ones on the left are not. Please do your homework before you start giving absurd advice.

And please, forward the request to someone, who is aware of different cartridges and HP ink system.

Hi @Kaktus4,

Thank you for sharing the above information.  As you can read the information on the tri-color cartridge  it says instant ink ready and those ink cartridges will not work once you unsubscribe from the service.

You will have to use retail purchased ink to for the printer to resume printing.

However, if you still believe that it is not an instant ink cartridge.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
