Hi friends,
I bought this piece of crap from Kmart today for $48. I have connected this junk to my phone, however I can not connect it to my Macbook. I bought this piece of crap only for printing DL size Envelopes as my laser printer was not suited for envelopes with plastic face(transparent).
What do I do with this piece of junk that I bought? I have not printed a single page, i-e not even a test page but I made the mistake of connecting the 2 cartridges. The moment I try to add this printer from Printer and Scanners utility in my system, It shows the printer there. When I click add it says "Setting Up HP DeskJet 2700 series" and then nothing happens. It just goes on and on and on. My internet connection is excellent. I have never encountered a problem of any sort over year with my Mac Operating system. I am sure this piece of crap has some issue with it. I tried connecting to HP support. The service is non existent. They do not show their contact number. They do not respond on whatsapp messages which is another option. What the hell is wrong with these guys? Do they not offer support after sale of their product? And whats the deal with them not listing Big Sur drivers anywhere? I have realised HP stands for Happy Prank! They are pranksters in my opinion. And they played a trick with me by selling me this toy( Piece of junk and crap), Shame on your team HP. Now community is my only support. These morons have primitive systems for drivers. Do I throw this piece of junk in garbage now? Or do what with it?
Please help people! And never buy HP products. They are joke and their support is non-existent !

@Bilal-Melbourne, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

You say that you have connected the printer to your phone. That means the printer is working fine. This seems like a connectivity issue with the MAC.

  • Make sure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.
  • The wireless status menu on your Mac should also give us quite a lot of information that would help us identify the issue. You can press and hold the option key on your keyboard and click the WiFi icon to get detailed information.

Perform a ping test to check the connectivity

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the Wireless icon on the printer
  2. On the MAC Go to Spotlight > search for Network utility > select Ping tab > enter the IP address of the printer in the box
  3. Check the second box that says Send only > 10 pings
  4. Click on ping > Check the results at the end if any packets are lost
  5. Note: There should be 0% packet loss, share the results in your next post.

Keep me posted.
