Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
No, let the printer sleep -- when it is not in use, the printer goes into a low-power mode.
Leaving the printer but (and sleeping) allows the printer to wake up when it needs to perform self maintenance.
Switch off the printer, and perhaps even remove the power to the printer, during stormy weather or when you believe leaving the printer switched on and the power connected can harm the hardware due to service (power) interruptions.
