I have a new inkjet, all-in-one printer, model # 8025e.  I have always been shutting down (turning off the power) on both my two desktop computers and my printer when I leave my office every evening.  When I come back in the morning, the 8025e printer is already turned on.  I don't know why or what time of day (or night) the printer turns back on, but it's always on when I open up the office every morning.        Maybe I shouldn't be shutting everything down every day.....  Anyone have any suggestions ?

You can leave the printer "on".

It will sleep when not in use.

Leaving the printer "on" allows it to occasionally wake up - for example, to perform maintenance.

Read the User Guide to better understand the options.

What else?

HP+ printer must be left connected to the Internet to allow the HP+ service to be monitored.

Shutting off the printer (of course) interrupts the printer's ability to occasionally check in with the service.

Does this matter?  Briefly switching off the printer does not impact the service.
