I would like to shut off the bar lights on the front of the printer completely.

Shut them off completely. Please tell me how to do this. They are unnecessary and annoying.

All system and printer software/firmware are updated.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to get the answer to this question, it's not possible to turn off Edge lighting 
The printer Edge lighting consists of a large light bar across the front of the printer. These lights communicate printer states with color and movement.
