Since upgrading to Windows 11, my existing Word documents are not printing to scale.
I have been through the HP Smart App and despite reinstalling the software etc, the problem has not been rectified. I don't have a scale option on my Printing properties as some 'Help' suggests.
any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi @AJWUK,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your existing Word documents are not printing to scale after upgrading to Windows 11 and reinstalling the HP Smart App didn't resolve the issue, here are some steps and suggestions you can try:
Check Printer Settings in Word:
- Open your Word document.
- Go to File > Print.
- In the Print dialog box, make sure the correct printer is selected.
- Click on "Printer Properties" or "Printer Preferences" (the wording may vary depending on your printer model and driver).
- Look for any options related to scaling or scaling percentage. Ensure that the scaling is set to 100% or "Actual size."
Printer Driver Update:
- Visit the HP website and download the latest printer driver for your specific printer model that is compatible with Windows 11.
- Install the updated driver and then try printing again.
Adjust Printer Settings via Control Panel:
- Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type control printers and press Enter to open the Devices and Printers window.
- Right-click on your HP printer and select "Printing preferences."
- Look for any scaling options here and ensure they are set correctly.
Check Windows Settings:
- Open Settings (press Windows Key + I).
- Go to Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select your HP printer and click on "Manage."
- Check the settings available here, including paper size and scaling options.
Use Different Printing Method:
- Instead of printing directly from Word or HP Smart App, try printing using the built-in printing functionality in Windows:
- Open your Word document.
- Press Ctrl + P to open the Print dialog box.Choose your HP printer and click on "Print Options."
- Adjust settings as needed and then click on "Print."
Update Windows and Office:
- Ensure that your Windows 11 and Microsoft Office applications are fully up to date. Sometimes, updates can include fixes for printing issues.
Reset Printer Preferences:
- If all else fails, you can try resetting the printer preferences:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.Select your HP printer, then click on "Remove device."
- Re-add the printer and set it up again with default settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I am experiencing the same issues of scale but am using an iPad. It appears that Microsoft office 365 did an upgrade and now it won’t print to scale, margins are weird, and only allows 5 copies to be printed. Also print preview only shows 1st page.
