HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer
Other

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with my HP Deskjet 4155e All-in-One Printer when printing from my Mac running macOS Sequoia. I’m trying to print on US Letter size paper, but the prints come out slanted and with incorrect margins.

Specifically:

  • In portrait mode, there’s an unexpected half-inch margin at the bottom of the page. In landscape mode, there’s a half-inch margin on the right side, while the other margins are set to 0.

  • The printed content is always missing the last part of the page (bottom in portrait or right in landscape), even though the print preview shows the whole page correctly.

I’ve tried adjusting the settings multiple times but haven’t been able to resolve the issue.

Could you please advise on how to fix this?

Thank you.

@Gaba2025, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing slanted prints and incorrect margins when printing from your Mac running macOS Sequoia using your HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer. Let's walk through a few steps to help resolve this issue.

Check Paper Alignment

  • Ensure the paper is properly aligned in the input tray.
  • The paper guides should be snug against the paper stack without bending it.
  • Misaligned paper can cause slanted prints.

Update Printer Drivers

  • Make sure you have the latest printer drivers and firmware installed for macOS Sequoia.
  • Visit the HP Support page and search for your printer model: HP DeskJet 4155e.

Adjust Margin Settings in macOS

  • When printing, click File > Print.
  • In the print dialog, click Show Details (if hidden).
  • Under Paper Size, select a size that includes “Borderless” if you want edge-to-edge printing.
  • Go to the Layout or Margins section and ensure margins are set to "None" or "Borderless" if supported.
  • For more details, refer to HP’s guide on selecting margin options.

Use HP Smart App

  • Download or open the HP Smart app on your Mac.
  • Use it to print a test page and check if the issue persists.
  • The app can also help with alignment and firmware updates.

Run Print Alignment

  • On the printer control panel or via HP Smart:
    • Go to Settings > Tools > Align Printer.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete alignment.

Reset Printing System (macOS)

If the issue persists:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and choose Reset printing system.
  • Re-add your HP DeskJet 4155e and try printing again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello Max3Aj,

I’ve tried all available troubleshooting steps, but the issue still persists. Additionally, I’m encountering another problem: although my printer model is HP DeskJet 4100e, when I try to add it to my HP account using the serial number, a different model appears.

I’m also unable to verify if the drivers and firmware are correctly installed, as the support tools for this are only available for Windows, I’m using a Mac.

I want the printing to cover all the paper with no margins. The issue is with the margins: my documents print with correct margins on the top or right side (as shown in the attached image), but the bottom margin (or left side when printing in landscape) is consistently cut off.

I’m very disappointed. I even upgraded my HP Instant Ink plan so I could print more pages, but instead I’m wasting time, paper, and ink on failed prints.

I would really appreciate your help resolving this.
