HP Smart Tank Plus 655 Wireless All-in-One

HP Smart Tank Plus 651 - When printing from glass top or document feed it only prints in red even though I hit Black. But printing from a computer it prints in black. Full HP ink tanks, cleaned and aligned the heads, set Factory defaults - it still prints in red when using the glass top. The manual does not address this. Any ideas out there??

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

 

I understand you're experiencing an issue with print quality on your printer.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

 

Please follow the steps below to fix the issue.

 

A) Perform a power drain.

 

 1) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

2) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

3) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

4) Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Power on the printer

 

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

 

C) Refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.

 

D) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to restore factory defaults and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Thank you sir much for your detailed response - but it didn't work. What I DID find out is that the color sensor is no longer working. I kept checking the ink levels through the computer and printer screen. It consistently said all ink cells were full. I finally visually looked at the ink cells and they were all very low. I filled each one and tried to copy a color printed document. All of the black letters and lines came out red, green came out yellow. So the color sensor is bad. Time for a new printer.
