Hi @Isakmu

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot. I can see the print preview screen from the HP App for your HP Smart Tank 790 printer. The options displayed include:

  • Printer: HP Smart Tank 790 [A2161E]
  • Paper: A4
  • Copies: 1
  • Private Pickup: Off
  • Print Quality: Normal
  • Color Options: Color
  • 2-sided: Off
  • A “Print” button at the bottom

Currently, there is no visible setting for Orientation (Portrait or Landscape) in this interface, which explains your concern.

Here are some steps you can try to enable or adjust orientation:

1. Check Orientation in the Document/App

Before printing, ensure the document itself is set to landscape in the application you are printing from (e.g., Word, Excel, PDF viewer).

  • In Word: Go to Layout > Orientation > Landscape.
  • In Excel: Go to Page Layout > Orientation > Landscape.
  • In PDF: Use Print Settings > Orientation.

2. Use System Print Dialog

When you tap Print, look for an option like More Settings or System Print Dialog.

  • On Windows:
    • Press Ctrl + P in the app, select your printer, then click Printer Properties or Preferences.
    • Under Layout or Printing Preferences, choose Landscape.

3. Update HP App

Ensure you have the latest version of the HP App installed. Sometimes missing options appear after updating.

4. Printer Driver Settings

If printing from a PC:

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer > Printing Preferences.
  • Under Layout, select Landscape.

Would you like me to also share steps for printing from mobile using the HP App? Or should I focus only on Windows PC settings?

Take care, and have an amazing day!
