@alfa102a, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To resolve the issue with your HP Smart Tank 7600 printer being asleep, please try the following steps:

Check the Power Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to a power source and that the power cable is securely plugged in.

Wake Up the Printer:

  • Try pressing the power button to wake up the printer.
  • If there is a touch screen, touch it to see if it responds.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer and ensure it is up-to-date. You can usually find updates on the HP support website.

Printer Settings:

  • Access the printer settings to check if there is a sleep or power-saving mode. If there is, you may want to adjust or disable it depending on your usage to prevent frequent sleep mode activation.

Connection Type:

  • If your query is related to how the printer is connected, please specify whether it is connected via USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet, as this can affect how the printer wakes up.

Restart the Printer:

  • Try turning off the printer, unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
