Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

from nowhere, status 'stopped' if printing from iMac.  Can still print via WiFi from other devices.  Forced to download drivers via hpSmart.  Must be bug - states there is no paper.  There is paper!  Not hardware.... it can scan and print from other devices.  

Can hp issue individual drivers per printer and not just via hpSmart as it has bugs!

Anyone else got this problem with hpSmart forced full package download?

PS I have shut down, reinstalled, restarted, gone via USB, gone via WiFi... everything, 3 x.  so infuriating!
