Can anyone point me in the direction of a working installable version of this software?

@silver388,

OK, if you're looking for the simpler "Easy Start" style installer rather than the full HP Smart app, here's how you can get there:

  1. Go to HP's official support page for your printer model (ENVY Inspire 7924e) and select the correct operating system.

  2. In the list of downloads look for: "HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software" or: "Full Feature Software / Full Driver" -that’s the one you're after.

  3. Download and install it. During the setup you should be able to skip extra apps if you don't want them. If using USB, disconnect the cable until the installer prompts you.

  4. If you don't see that installer listed, try switching OS filter on the page (for example Windows 10 ↔ Windows 11) or check HP's FTP archive for "HPEasyStart" + your printer series.

That should give you the leaner meaner install you want. If you hit any errors (for example: "printer not found"), let me know your OS version and I'll dig up the exact link.

Kind Regards,

@silver388,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

The general direction I am inclined to point you to is over here: HP ENVY Inspire 7924e All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.

Install the HP Smart app from here to complete setup and support.

Thanks for your reply NonSequitur777 I went down the HP smart app route but was particulary looking for the less involved software like the easy start software version.
