Thank you -- Thank you! I was going crazy trying to find the problem and fix it until I saw your post. Your directions were spot on. Now will MS redo their update address the secutity issue WITHOUT breaking other stuff?
thanks again.

I am so frustrated with WIN10! I upgraded Win7 to the Win 10 before Thanksgiving. My HP J4680 printed fine. Now today it's doing the same thing as yours. The Solutions Center won't open. You click on the icon and it looks like it's going to open then goes away.
I have googled and tried everything pretty much people are suggesting. I restarted numerous times, tried to open it from different areas on my PC. Tried to find the HPWU(whatever it was) to open that. It doesn't work. Also tried looking for the Change device installation settings. It's not easy to find either. Then tried looking for the Security and Maintance page and open the last installed updates. I couldn't find that either, because WIN10 doesn't show that exact thing they had when it was Win7.
Somehow the (FAX) option opened up at one point and no printing area. It does show a print in queue box after messing with this for over 3 hours, it popped up after I clicked on something. (Not the solutions center) Just that printing queue box.
I am so sorry I upgraded to this Win 10. NEVER AGAIN! Next PC will be a MAC! These upgrades are ridiculous and always an issue and time consumed fixing them.
Any one have a an easy FIX that is step by step for a novice on the PC. We'd sure appreciate it. Thank you..

Well same here. I tried to open my solution center (which I need) in both my desktop and laptop and all I get is a chime. I suffered through the same. Uninstall, re-install, re-installed flash player and nothing. From what I see it makes sense that the latest security patch is the culprate here since it was working well untill microsoft downloded the recent updates. I guess this is another example where we give away our freedoms for more security. I hope Microsoft comes out with a solution or HP comes out with something. In the mean time I'm turning off my Microsoft Windows computer and turning on my older one which I run with Linux. No issues there. And I can run my printer from it.

I have the same problem. Won't start, no error message and just a sound. The last time I used solution centre was 25-Dec-15 when it started ok. I am on Windows 10 (64bit). I also tried the unnstall and re-install but that didn't solve the problem. The only thing that I think changed on my computer since the 25th was that I upgraded iPlayer to the latest version. As both use Flash, I wondered if that upgrade had an incompatability with the curren version of Solution Centre in it's usage of Flash. Just a theory.

Hi @JAMD
Thanks for using the forum.
Yes, the Windows 10 update KB 3132372 caused the Solution Center to crash.
Please find the following relevant video that shows you how to "Uninstall Windows 10 updates" and also to "Hide updates" to prevent Windows from installing the update in future!

I have finally fix mine. Had same problem driving me too.
I figured it out from reading tons of forums Q&A.
This is what you need to do.
Uninstall the Microsoft update: "security update for Package_for_KB3132372"
No need to restart, solution center will work instantly for you.
