On 1/27/25 I went in HP page because  I had issues installing a new printer, a driver issue.  A chat box popped and asked to assist me. Trusting the HP name I agreed.  My phone number was taken and I was given an incident number. Someone called me back, we went over solutions and my printer issue was fixed.  I was told I had bad files that could be removed for $199. I allowed remote access to my computer because I trusted  the HP page.  I was asked to write a check to I Can Print and place it on my scanner to be scanned.  I refused.  As I was on the phone with a high pressure man demanding money, I tried to use my cursor to disconnect but the man kept moving my cursor on his end. I eventually just turned off the computer.  I scanned my computer and there were no problem files.  I had Best Buy scan my computer and they found no bad files.   I changed all my passwords but was unable to maneuver the HP phone menu to get a live person or online to report this directly to them.  I think the scam was  after my banking info from my check which I didn’t give them.  They did fix my printer issue but I hope my computer is ok.  Very nervous.  Don’t know what to look for or what to do.
