Need to download the Printer drivers to setup on a Citrix desktop for remote printing. I can't use  the HP smart app, I just need the printer drivers to install on the computer.

Thanks for your assistance, however the situation is that this is for remote printing in a Citrix environment. So, going to the computer and installing software is a little more complex. It cannot be installed directly. The printer driver needs to be installed on the virtual machine, so that it an connect with the remote device in which the printer is connected.  HP, in the support process, has removed the standalone driver. Instead, they give an install option, as if the printer is connected to the computer, or they give you firmware which does not apply to the application as it is being used, and they give you an Easy-Start executable, which again, is useless. The actual printer driver is required to be installed on the virtual machine. I was able to solve my issue by getting a copy of the Universal print driver and creating a print configuration on the virtual desktop that allowed me to see the printer on the remote computer. Thanks for your suggestions!

The Basics - Standard - Reinstall Full Feature Software

 

Printer Software

  • Uninstall the existing printer software from Programs and Features
  • Restart the computer and log in

 

Next

  • If using USB, disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the computer before starting the installation.  Connect the cable when instructed to do so (toward the end of the installation procedure).

 

Easy Start Wrapper

  •  Home Page - HP Easy Start >> Open Category Software and Drivers > Topic: Software-Utility > Download and save the current version of the Easy Start wrapper to install your print software

OR

No Easy Start for your model / situation?

Download-Save-Install the Full Feature Software (Printer Software)

 

  • Open your printer Home Page > Support Website  
  • Open Category Software and Drivers
  • Download and Save the printer installation package for the “full driver”

NOTES:

  • Full Feature Software might have been moved to subcategory Software-Utility
  • The “full driver” installation package might be named  Print and Scan Driver and Accessories

 

  • Navigate to the folder in which you saved the software installation package (likely Downloads)
  • Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
  • Reminder:  If using Easy Start, select the Full Driver
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
