HP Envy 6000E

My printer now prints 3 copies of any document I send to it. The menu option is for a single copy. How do I stop this from happening? Only started recently so am assuming it is from a software up? Printing from iPad and iPhone.

Hi @Nick7241,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY 6000e might be defaulting to print multiple copies due to a setting issue or a glitch in the software.

Here’s how you can troubleshoot and fix the problem:

1. Check Print Settings

From iPad/iPhone:

  • Open the document/photo you want to print.
  • Tap the share icon (a square with an arrow pointing up) or the Print option.
  • Tap the "Options" button (it may look like a small gear icon) and ensure the number of copies is set to 1.
  • Try printing again.

From the HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Select your printer and choose "Print" from the app menu.
  • Check the number of copies setting and ensure it is set to 1.
  • Try printing a test page.

2. Check Printer Settings

  • From the Printer Control Panel:
    • Navigate to the printer settings menu using the control panel on the printer.
    • Look for any settings related to "Copies" or "Print Settings."
    • Ensure that the default number of copies is set to 1.

3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

On Your iPad/iPhone:

  • Make sure the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version from the App Store.

On Your Computer:

  • Visit the HP Support website.
  • Search for your printer model and download the latest drivers and software.
  • Install the updated drivers and software, then restart your computer and printer.

4. Reset Printer Settings

  • From the Printer Menu:
    • Access the printer settings menu on the control panel.
    • Look for an option to reset or restore default settings.

5. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer:
    • Go to the HP Support website and check for firmware updates for your printer model.
    • Follow the instructions to update the firmware if available.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
