Hi @Nick7241,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP ENVY 6000e might be defaulting to print multiple copies due to a setting issue or a glitch in the software.
Here’s how you can troubleshoot and fix the problem:
1. Check Print Settings
From iPad/iPhone:
- Open the document/photo you want to print.
- Tap the share icon (a square with an arrow pointing up) or the Print option.
- Tap the "Options" button (it may look like a small gear icon) and ensure the number of copies is set to 1.
- Try printing again.
From the HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Select your printer and choose "Print" from the app menu.
- Check the number of copies setting and ensure it is set to 1.
- Try printing a test page.
2. Check Printer Settings
- From the Printer Control Panel:
- Navigate to the printer settings menu using the control panel on the printer.
- Look for any settings related to "Copies" or "Print Settings."
- Ensure that the default number of copies is set to 1.
3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
On Your iPad/iPhone:
- Make sure the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version from the App Store.
On Your Computer:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Search for your printer model and download the latest drivers and software.
- Install the updated drivers and software, then restart your computer and printer.
4. Reset Printer Settings
- From the Printer Menu:
- Access the printer settings menu on the control panel.
- Look for an option to reset or restore default settings.
5. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer:
- Go to the HP Support website and check for firmware updates for your printer model.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware if available.
Refer to this document: HP ENVY 6000e All-In-One Printer series User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
