I'm setting up my 8015e printer, and have gotten to the wireless set up, and I'm at the "Get HP Sofrtware " screen. I downloaded the app, but the printer is not showing up in my WiFi settings. I think the WiFi option on the printer is not activated (blue WiFi light), but I'm unable to go back to the printer settings. I'm stuck on the "Get HP Software" screen. How do I get out of this screen and back to the Setup icon?

Hi @THolden,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're stuck on the "Get HP Software" screen during the setup of your HP OfficeJet Pro 8015e printer and the Wi-Fi option isn’t activated, you can follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Exit the Current Setup Screen

Cancel or Close Setup:

  • Look for an option to Cancel, Close, or Exit the setup process on the screen you're currently on. This might be a button or an icon, often found in the corner of the screen.

Restart the Setup Process:

  • If there’s no option to exit, close the HP app or any setup software you’re using, and then restart the application.

2. Power Cycle the Printer

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Press the power button to turn off the printer.

Unplug the Printer:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer and wait for about 30 seconds.

Reconnect and Power On:

  • Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer back on.

3. Activate Wi-Fi on the Printer

Enable Wireless Setup:

  • On the printer’s control panel, locate the Wireless button or icon. If there’s a physical button, press and hold it until the wireless light starts blinking. If there’s an on-screen menu, navigate to Wireless Settings or Network Setup and select Wireless Setup Wizard.

Check Wireless Light:

  • Ensure that the wireless light on the printer is blinking, indicating that it’s in setup mode. If it’s not blinking, the printer may need to be reset to activate the Wi-Fi.

4. Reconnect Using HP App

Open HP App:

  • Open the HP app on your computer or mobile device.

Add Printer:

  • In the HP app, tap Add Printer. The app should search for available printers.

Follow Instructions:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network. If the printer doesn’t appear, ensure your mobile device or computer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want to use for the printer.

5. Manually Set Up Wi-Fi

Use the Printer’s Control Panel:

  • If you can’t get the printer to show up in the app, use the printer’s control panel to manually connect to your Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
