This has been horrible experience.... I have a M207-M212 laser printer that I am trying to get installed via an iPhone 17. My current Mac is an older Intel based and the HP app won't work and the app on my iPhone keeps failing to register the printer to my account and won't go any further.
Getting "Unable to register the Printer to your account". Error Code OW_4XX_OWSWS00001.
I have power cycled the unit over and over. I believe that it won't register because I'm connected to the printers wifi_setup network and not the internet but that's just my opinion. How do I go in and setup this stupid thing or I'm going to be shipping it back for a refund.

To connect your HP LaserJet M207 series printer to a Wi-Fi network and use it with your Mac, you can download the software via HP Software and Driver Downloads or use the guided setup process.[ref_1, ref_2]
Step 1: Put the Printer into Wi-Fi Setup Mode
- Turn on your printer.[ref_1]
- Press and hold the Information button for 5 seconds, then release it.[ref_1]
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously until the printer restarts or the wireless light starts blinking blue.
Step 2: Connect via HP Smart or Easy Start on Mac
- Ensure your Mac is connected to your local 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (not 5 GHz or a guest network).[ref_1, ref_2, ref_3]
- Download and open the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start software from 123.hp.com/laserjet.[ref_1, ref_2]
- Follow the on-screen prompts to search for your HP LaserJet M207 printer and enter your Wi-Fi network password.[ref_1, ref_2]
- Wait for the wireless light on the printer to turn solid blue, confirming the network connection is active.[ref_1]
Step 3: Add the Printer in macOS
- Wait a few moments for the printer to appear on the list, select it, make sure AirPrint or the specific HP driver is chosen at the bottom, and click Add.[ref_1, ref_2]
- Check System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network to ensure HP Smart or HP software has permission to access your local network.[ref_1, ref_2]
