After installing new hp oem cartridges I'm getting error "Supply System Problem" for one and while trying to repair I noticed a new firmware version out July 8 2026 OJP9130_OJP9130e_6.23.6.41.  I'm trying to fix the firmware first which I feel main problem but after several attempts it will not update. After unplugging, usb direct, RJ45 hardwired and wireless nothing works. I've been using HP with all my companies and they still can't make sofware right. Im sure the outside people from HP will know better then the people who work for hp.

How to resolve a “Supply System Problem” error on HP printers

Follow the steps for your cartridge type (check which HP ink cartridge family your printer uses).

For Type 1 cartridges

(Hp 178, 364, 564, 655, 862, 902–910, 912–920, 923–925, 934, 935)

  1. Clean the ink cartridge vents

    • Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop.
    • Push the tab on a cartridge and pull it out.
    • If the orange pull-tab is still attached, remove it.
    • Use a pin or paper clip to clear any debris/adhesive from the vent on top of the cartridge.
    • Reinsert the cartridge into its color‑coded slot until it snaps into place.
    • Repeat for all cartridges.
  2. Reset the printer

    • Turn the printer off. If it will not turn off, disconnect the power cord.
    • Unplug the power cord from the wall.
    • Wait 60 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet and into the printer.
    • Turn the printer on.
  3. Replace all ink cartridges

    • Obtain a full new set of cartridges (HP recommends genuine HP).
    • Open the cartridge access door; wait for the carriage to stop.
    • Remove each cartridge and install the new one into the correct slot.
    • Repeat for all cartridges.
  4. Replace the printhead or service the printer

    • If the error persists, contact HP Support to have the printhead replaced or the printer serviced.

For Type 2 cartridges

(HP 932–933, 936–938, 950–959, 962–969)

  1. Check cartridges for ink

    • Turn the printer on and open the cartridge access door.
    • Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
    • Push each cartridge to release it and remove it.
    • Gently shake the cartridge:
      • If it contains ink, push it back into its slot until it snaps in.
      • If it does not contain ink, replace it.
    • Repeat for all cartridges and close the door.
  2. Reseat the printhead (printers with a carriage latch only)

    • Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop.
    • Check if there is a latch on the carriage.
    • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord.
    • Lift the carriage latch, slightly lift the printhead, then lower it back into the carriage.
    • Wiggle the printhead left and right, then lower the latch fully.
    • Close the door and reconnect the power cord.
    • If the error remains, repeat this reseating process up to three times.
  3. Reset the printer

    • Turn the printer off (or disconnect the power cord if it won’t turn off).
    • Unplug the power cord from the wall.
    • Wait 60 seconds.
    • Plug the cord directly into a wall outlet and into the printer.
    • Turn the printer on.
  4. Replace all ink cartridges

    • Get a complete new set of cartridges (preferably genuine HP).
    • Open the cartridge access door; wait for the carriage to stop.
    • Replace each cartridge with a new one, inserting it fully into its slot.
  5. Replace the printhead or service the printer

    • If the error still displays, contact HP Support to arrange printhead replacement or printer service.
