Hi @Bsel1946,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand that experiencing a System Error 79 on your HP Color LaserJet M255dw printer can be frustrating, particularly if you have already attempted several troubleshooting steps. Here are a few additional recommendations that might help resolve the issue:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on.

  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  • Wait for at least 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord.

  • Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

Check for Connectivity Issues:

  • If the printer is connected to a network, ensure that the network is stable.

  • Consider connecting the printer directly to your computer using a USB cable to see if the error persists.

Remove Jobs from the Print Queue:

  • Cancel all pending print jobs from the computer or device to which the printer is connected.

  • Clear the print queue by restarting the Print Spooler service on the computer.

Factory Reset the Printer:

  • A factory reset can sometimes resolve stubborn issues. Note that this will restore the printer to its default settings, so you will need to set it up again.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
