When I logged onto my MacBook Pro this morning I received an alert that my HP software would not be compatible with a future version of macOS. I am running Sequoia 15.3.1 on my MacBook Pro and Monterey 12.7.6 on my  Mac Desktop. Would there be an updated version of HP software available to support legacy system extensions?

Hi @DanAugust ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand how concerning it can be to see compatibility warnings about your HP software.

  • Are you experiencing any current issues with printing or scanning, or is this just a future compatibility warning?
  • Have you checked the HP Easy Start or HP Smart app for any available updates?
  • Do you prefer using HP's official software, or are you open to using Apple's built-in drivers (AirPrint) as an alternative?

Kindly help me with more details.

I received the same message about future incompatibility.  I looked at HP Early Start.  My HP Envy printer 4520 is not listed.  I am not having any problem printing from my Mac Desktop or iPhone. Should I simply let the sleeping dog alone?

Hi @Whatever8

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Since you're not currently experiencing any issues with printing, you can continue using your setup as is.

The alert is a precautionary notice for future macOS updates, so there's no immediate action required unless you encounter problems.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Regards,
