HP OfficeJet Pro 9018e All-in-One Printer
I bought a new HP printer and contacted HP for help setting it up. I was directed to a third party, Business Express, who charged me $586 to install. They said that i had to have a firewall in order to install the printer (HP E7E586) and they would provide support for 3 years. I have never had to provide support for a printer and I resent HP not providing information for me to install the printer. Because I was in a rush to get some printing done, I was gullible enough to go along with this. So, basically I paid somewhere around $150 for a new HP printer and had to pay an additional $586 to get it installed.

Shame on you, HP.

This did teach me a lesson however. I will switch to Epson in the future.

Sadly you, like others wandered onto a scam site that has nothing to do with HP but are very persuasive in convincing you that they are your salvation and only they can save you. HP does not charge for setup. You go to 123.hp.com and follow the instructions. I have escalated your post to the moderators and someone from HP may reach out to you via a Private Message to obtain some details so they can investigate. HP does spend a great deal of time working to shut down these sites that take advantage of end users who think that they are on an HP site when nothing is further from the truth. As with any encounter with fraudsters, notify your bank, change any passwords and if you allowed this company to remote into your computer, consider that your security might be compromised and take steps to ensure that no back doors or trojans have been installed on your computer.

If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution easier by marking my post as an accepted solution. Clicking "yes" on "was this reply helpful" also increases the chances that this solution will help others.
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.
