Product: HP Smart Tank 529 All-in-One Printer

I've to transport my printer, and the road conditions are not good. So there are chances that printer might not be steady. 
Does someone know the purpose of opening this blue latch over printhead as mentioned in this tutorial. Does it block ink supply?
Also , can someone guide me through how can ink spill during transport.
I called HP Customer Support, I was told to empty the tank. I am disappointed at how useless technical support is , at HP.

HP Recommended

The blue latch is for removing and replacing the printhead.

 

In the user guide, you have steps for printer transportation.
