Hi All
I'm moving to France in April. I have an HP monitor, printer and laptop. I love them all. Does anyone know if it's possible to just swap the 110v power supply/converter used in the U.S. for a 220 power supply over there? Are they exactly the same machines over there, except for the power supply?
Thanks

The Officejet 90100 and the HP 255 G8 laptop will only need the cords replaced, the part from the wall outlet to the black power supply box, the power supply automatically adjusts for varying inputs from 100V to 240V and keeps the proper output.
For the HP 27F display the spec's are ambiguous, it only lists the power as "external". Check the power supply (probably with a magnifying glass) and look for the input voltage. Universal supplies are typically rated at 100-240 V AC. Also check if the cord is detachable from the monitor power supply. If the input voltage range includes 220V and the cord is detachable then you will just need a new cord for the monitor as well.

The Officejet Pro 9010 printer has a universal power supply:
Power supply | Input voltage: 100 to 240 VAC (+/- 10%), 50/60 Hz |
Note the cartridges used for the Officejet Pro 9010 are different in Europe than in the US. Once your first black or color cartridge is depleted once you move you will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work. HP's web page on the subject is here.
What is your laptop model? What monitor? Most have universal power supplies, you might check the label on your power supply if it is an external type, or check the product specifications at https://support.hp.com/us-en.
The power cords are different in France from the US, you will probably need to buy replacement power cords or adapters. Each is inexpensive, I would expect the cords or adapters would be under $10 each. The cords are typically standard items.

Hi Bob
Thanks for the help. For the printer, when you say it's a "universal" adapter, does that mean I just need to change the part of the cord that goes from the wall to the black box? And the black box knows that it's 220v coming from the wall? That would be cool. I might just buy a bunch of cartridges before I go. I don't use it that much, but it is handy because it has a scanner, etc.
As for the laptop, it's HP255 G8. A very nice machine, with a 1TB flash drive. Had it for just about a year. Would like to keep it for another 10 years. I guess the same would apply here - just get a new cord from the wall to the black box.
The monitor is an HP 27f. Very flat and thin. Same thing there too. Almost new, would like to keep it. If I can just buy a new cord, that would be terrific.
I have a clunky power converter that plugs into the wall in France and has 3 outlets and USB ports, but it makes a noise and I'd rather not have it the office.
Any advice you can give is much appreciated!
