Yesterday Thursday 24/10/2024.  Iwas trying to install a new HP printer 2800e onto my chromebook. Just turned on and got an error message # chat was on so sent error message told a tech. would contact me.  ended up with tech taking over my laptop and desktop and me on phone on and off for 5/6 hours.  He said my IP address had been compromised.  Then said I had to pay £149.99 plus a gst?? of 20% which would be 179.99 this I refused to do.  He became very intimidating.  I am 78 years old so I don't need this sort of thing.  How can HP Allow this on their site

Hi @Printerhack78 

The support for your Deskjet 2800e should be done with HP Support under warranty, no need to pay anything.
