Dear Lvtelcia................Thanks to your research and persisitence to solve the issue. I had the same problem with my HP GT5810 inkjet coloured printer. It could print 'dot pdf' files but not print any MS Office files or even a 'Test Print' .... I must have uninstalled and reinstalled the HP GT 5810 software from the DVD at least 10 times. Interestingly I downloaded the driver software from HP site as adviced by the HP  geeks   but to my horror, the files unzipped and vanished into the Temp foder without the 'dot exe' files auto running !  Follwing an advice on this forum, I could locate the 'recently downloaded / extracted' driver software folder in the Temp folder ...........but there too, double clicking the 'hp setup' exe file did not yield any result .....but this time it flashed an error message saying that I dont have the rights. That put me into thinking ! ..... till I could search out your problem and the following threads. .......and the big bold declaration by the HP geeks that the problem has been solved.

I edited the rights of the Temp Folder gave 'full privileges' to 'Everyone' and ....................'All izz well now' !

Thanks .......and Thanks .....
