Hi @Ramornie,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the margins on the test page for your HP DeskJet 2700 All-in-One Printer are too far to the left, it usually indicates a misalignment issue. Here's how to fix it:
1. Align the Print Cartridges
- After installing new cartridges, alignment is essential to ensure proper printing.
- Steps:
- Open the HP Smart app on your Android device.
- Tap Printer Settings > Align Print Cartridges.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment process.
2. Clean the Printhead How to Clean Printer Heads: A Guide to Better Ink Efficiency
If the alignment doesn't resolve the issue:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Tap Printer Settings > Clean Printhead.
- Run a cleaning cycle to ensure the nozzles are working correctly.
3. Verify Paper Settings
- Paper Size and Type: Ensure the correct paper size and type are set in the HP Smart app or the printer settings.
- Load Paper Properly: Adjust the paper width guides in the input tray to ensure the paper is centered.
4. Check Print Settings
- From your Android device:
- Open the document or photo you want to print.
- Select Print, then tap the arrow to expand print settings.
- Ensure the margins are set correctly and no scaling options (like "fit to page") are interfering with the layout.
5. Update Firmware and App Update the firmware on an HP printer
Outdated firmware can cause unexpected printing issues:
- Update Printer Firmware:
- Use the HP Smart app to check for firmware updates.
- Tap Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Firmware Update.
- Update the HP Smart App:
- Visit the Google Play Store to ensure you have the latest version.
6. Factory Reset the Printer
If the above steps don’t work:
- Perform a factory reset to restore default settings.
- Steps: Press and hold the Resume and Wireless buttons on the printer for about 20 seconds until the printer restarts.
