HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

I have an HP Laserjet 1102W that worked fine on Mac Monterey 12.0. The printer will not work, or will the HP allow me to use the driver download to reconnect the computer to the printer, because it is 12.1 version.

Any thoughts

Hello,

Proceed as follows, to install your printer on your Mac:

  1. Connect the USB cable to the USB port on the Mac and to the printer.

  2. Download and install the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads or HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X

  3. On the Apple menu, click System Preferences....

  4. On the View menu, click Printers & Scanners.

  5. Click on the + sign to add the printer.

  6. Click the Name printer.
  7. In the Use field, scroll down the list to choose Select Software....

  8. In the search field type 1100, then select HP LaserJet Professional P1100w, 6.9.

  9. Click OK, and then Add.

  10. Click Continue, then follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation.
  11. Try to print.

If this does not work, in the step 7 instead of choosing Select Software..., please select Apple AirPrint.

It is also advisable to update the printer firmware: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/FW_CPE_Consumer/LJP1100_P1560_P1600/LJP1100_P1560_P1600_FW....

Hello and thanks for your return,

I apologize for my late reply, due to tests under macOS Monterey 12.x the driver proposed in my previous message it is not compatible with Monterey.

Please follow the same procedure but with version 5.1.1 available below.
