Hi @sakhile441

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it must feel when the PC keeps closing despite your careful adjustments. Thank you for already trying to follow the manual and attempting the installation—it shows you’ve been thorough.

Let’s walk through this together step by step so the system feels stable again.

I’ll guide you on how to set up and check the “Auto Awake” feature yourself:

Open the HP Support Assistant on your PC. If you don’t have it installed, you can download it directly from HP’s official site:
HP Support Assistant

Once installed, launch HP Support Assistant. Go to the “Troubleshooting and fixes” section. Look for “Power and sleep settings” or “Auto Awake” options.

Ensure that your Windows power plan is set correctly:

  • Press Windows + R, type powercfg.cpl, and press Enter.
  • Select your active plan and click “Change plan settings.”
  • Set “Turn off the display” and “Put the computer to sleep” to suitable values (for testing, set them to “Never”).
  • Save changes.

In HP Support Assistant, check for updates under “My devices.” Install any BIOS, chipset, or power management updates available. These updates often stabilize auto awake and prevent unexpected shutdowns.

Restart the PC after applying changes. Observe if the system stays awake without closing.

If the issue persists, you can also try HP’s Diagnose & Fix tool within HP Support Assistant. It automatically scans for misconfigured power settings and corrects them.

Here’s another helpful link from HP that explains how to adjust sleep and power settings in detail:

Would you like me to guide you through the exact steps inside HP Support Assistant to locate the Auto Awake setting, so you can follow along on your PC?
