HP Smart app can't connect to my printer anymore. I'm really tired of it, I've worked for hours trying everything I can think of. I can set up my Mac when the printer is on my Wi-Fi network, but HP Smart won't connect. I did get "79 Service error" immediately after the update, so I used USB to reflash the printer, but HP Smart still won't connect. I selected Monterey, because your choices aren't updated to include Ventura (13.2). (And no Mac user who is still breathing would have left their machine on 12.0, anyway.) What do I do now?

The instructions for removing and reinstalling HP Smart appear to be inadequate. Although I had installed it from the Mac App Store, what was needed was to remove the ancillaries already created by the app as well as the app package. The instructions for removing and reinstalling only included removing the app package itself from the Applications folder before reinstalling. What actually helped me was to remove the app and its associated files using AppCleaner.app.
