I plug in the printer and as it’s starting up it gets stuck. It loads the full bar but only fills in one bubble

@Shank21, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Printer Stuck During Initialization!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your printer is experiencing an initialization problem. This issue could be related to the printheads or cartridges. Here is a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot your printer stuck during startup:

Switch OFF the Printer:

  • Use the switch on the printer's front panel.
  • Unplug the power cable.

Open the Top Cover and Move the Carriage:

  • Move the carriage to the middle.
  • Open the carriage latch.

Remove the Printheads:

  • Carefully remove the printheads one by one. Do not pull abruptly as this can damage the printhead.

Close the Carriage Latch:

  • Ensure it is locked.
  • Close the top cover.

Switch ON the Printer:

  • Plug the printer back in.
  • Power it on.

Insert Printheads:

  • The printer should display a message to insert printheads.
  • Open the top cover and disengage the carriage latch.
  • Insert the printheads one by one in the correct slot.
  • Ensure the front panel recognizes each printhead. If the front panel does not recognize any printhead, replace the printhead with a new one.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
