Problem with HP DeskJet 2742e Wi-Fi connectivity on HP Smart app

Hello,

 

I have an HP DeskJet 2742e printer. Everything worked fine before, but recently, after the HP Smart app updated on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I can no longer print via Wi-Fi.

 

The printer shows as ready and is visible on my iPhone and laptop, but when I try to print, I get errors like “Unable to connect to printer.” I have already tried:

 

  • Resetting the printer’s network settings.
  • Reinstalling the HP Smart app.
  • Connecting via USB to my laptop (works only temporarily).
  • Using Wi-Fi Direct on my iPhone (sometimes works briefly, but not consistently).

 

 

It seems like the printer loses its network connection, even though the Wi-Fi indicator is on and it’s detected by devices.

 

Could you please advise how to fix this issue so I can print from both my iPhone and laptop via Wi-Fi again?
